We have never stopped in such a well-equipped holiday let, at times we have felt it is more like a hotel! The thought behind the property has helped make our holiday such a pleasant and relaxing one. Many thanks to all. The area is lovely, Mallards Pike Lake particularly good for doggies who love a good swim. The Woodman and Speech House have excellent food and family friendly. The Rising Sun is great for a snack and/or a pint, they made a big fuss of the dog (biscuits for him) and the kids. We will certainly be back again and recommending to others.
We spent Christmas week here at Rosebank Cottage and have had the most wonderful time! The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and is absolutely beautiful! It is well equipped with everything we needed for our stay, and the little extras added to an already amazing time. The wine and biscuits on arrival to the lovely and tasteful Christmas decorations, everything was clearly carefully considered. A huge thank you to Jane for meeting us at the cottage at the start of our visit and being a wonderful host. We’ve had a magical first Christmas as a family and will definitely recommend to all our friends and family. Is it too early to book for next year? Thank you all!
We may have not come far but the cottage is ideal for travelling around the forest by bikes which we stored in the garage. Super cottage with everything we needed. Jane was really helpful on arrival. We also enjoyed a trip on the Dean Forest railway. Would recommend the Woodsman for good food. Thank you!
This cottage is beautiful and fantastically placed to explore. All the added touches (spare toiletries, biscuits and wine when we arrived) were wonderful. Safe and fun for the children to run around, especially in the gorgeous garden. Thank you so much!
Second visit to Rosebank, never a disappointment. Cosy, clean and well located. Garden is looking particularly awesome as well.
Rosebank Cottage is beautiful - far exceeded our expectations. It’s in a wonderful location with lots of exploring on the doorstep. We enjoyed the calm and peaceful surroundings, enjoying many an evening sat in the garden, watching the birds and sheep. The jazz music from the local pub was great to listen to on a warm evening and the local bank holiday carnival was great fun! The cottage has everything and more that we needed. We will definitely return. Thank you for the welcome gifts of wine and biscuits.
Thank you for a lovely break. The cottage is perfect – a really cosy home from home. We enjoyed walking in the woods outside the cottage and exploring further afield – Clearwell Caves, Puzzlewood, Symmonds Yat Rock, the sculpture trail at Beechenhurst. The cottage makes an excellent base. We’d recommend the Saracens Head at Symonds Yat for a hearty lunch after a long walk. We will recommend the cottage to friends and family.
After a particularly difficult year health wise we both needed a totally relaxing, rejuvenating experience and Rosebank Cottage delivered this over and beyond all our expectations! The cottage has been beautifully restored and the exceptional attention to detail ensured that all our possible needs were catered for. We will definitely be returning here next year and will book this as soon as we get home. It was lovely to meet Jane and to be able to thank her personally for a perfect holiday.
My sister and I (and Jackie too) have had a wonderful stay here at Rosebank. We came away to relax from a lot of stress at home. And relax we certainly we did. It was like ‘home from home’. Jane and Paul are so welcoming. We fell in love with this beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. (And thank you for our welcome treats). We’ve had a little Robin show up, everywhere we went. So we know our beloved ‘late’ Dad has enjoyed it with us too. We liked it very much and we can’t wait to come back.
We have had a lovely stay here. The cottage is beautiful and is ideally placed for exploring the Forest of Dean. We thoroughly enjoyed the Sculpture Trail and Mallards Pike and would recommend a visit here. We have had a great time and are sure to book to stay at Rosebank Cottage again.
Wonderful weekend in your lovely cottage. Everything we could have wanted inside, on the doorstep and within easy reach. Loved the log fire and cosy comfortable beds. Thank you for the welcome, hope to be back again. Going home happy, refreshed and totally relaxed – fantastic!
A lovely, friendly welcome from Jane and a cottage to match! We really enjoyed staying in this cosy cottage and had great fun exploring the surrounding area, finding some lovely gardens and stunning walks.
We have had a terrific break here at Rosebank. What a fantastic cottage and a beautiful setting! What a well serviced place. So snug and cosy. Weather was not at its best but we enjoyed ourselves anyway. Hope to return. Thank you
Thank you to you all, we have had a lovely time enjoying walks with the pup, he has thoroughly enjoyed visiting the local hostelries as all the locals played with him. The cottage is a credit to you all, someone has an eye for detail. What can I say but it’s beautiful and you seemed to have everything covered. Would love to come back again.
What a hidden gem – this is the first time we’ve been to the forest and what an amazing time we’ve had. Such a warm welcome from Jane – nothing was too much and it made our visit a real home from home. The cottage is beautiful with every little detail carefully thought of – it has been a very relaxing place to be after a day exploring. We even got to see the wild boar one night outside the house – amazing! The cottage is perfectly located to explore the forest. We’ve had a great week mountain biking and a great visit to Goodrich Castle. Our dog has loved her stay too – Jane was so generous helping out when we were away for a day for a friend’s wedding – thank you so much. We will most definitely be back with so much more to see and do.
We had a wonderful week in your gorgeous cottage, the best we have stayed in. Lovely views and walks were great. Finn loved it all. Weather was perfect, cold and crisp. Love the garden. Cottage had everything, very thoughtfully done. Will be back next year! Thanks for the little extras too.
Just returned from a lovely week in August with my wife and 2 boys aged 8 and 5. We all loved it and the boys said it was the best holiday ever. Beautiful cottage, much loved and wonderfully kept. Lovely area with lots to do. #recommended ❤️❤️
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, peaceful and well equipped cottage for our first stay in the Forest of Dean. We have had glorious sunny weather all weekend and sitting out in the stunning garden was an added bonus. Especially on Sunday evening when a brass band was playing in the Rising Sun.
All I can say is wow. We were greeted by Jane in the cottage ready and waiting with the fire going, at that we knew we had chosen a great place. It was well equipped, super comfy beds and linens. It's like a home from home, have already booked our return visit next year. Thank you for the welcome gift of wine and marshmallows thoroughly enjoyed.
Really impressed with your cottage – God is in the detail as they say and it’s a credit to you – doors – what can I say! Stunning. We’ve had a lovely holiday and been captivated by the area. Best bits, The Dog House and fish ‘n’ chips from next door over in Coleford, The Big Pit in Wales, trees, lakes, sheep, deer, wild boar. Hope to be back one day. Had tea at the Fountain Inn last night – worth booking ahead menu choice and table – but really, really nice!
The Cottage is everything I could've wanted, impeccably clean and tidy and has everything I would need. All needs have been catered for and it's apparent that the cottage is well cared for and run with a great deal of thought. Very cosy and comfortable. I would certainly recommend to a friend and look forward to returning soon.
Wow! What an amazing cottage, all of you have done a fantastic job with it, a real home from home. There was everything you could possible want and need. I loved the decoration and how cosy it was at night with the log burner on. It was also very clean and tidy. The extra special touch of the gifts of wine, water and biscuits was a lovely touch. We had a great time exploring the area and especially visiting places we had been to with our families over 40 years ago. This was a wedding gift from the children and they will be so pleased we enjoyed it. We would definitely come again. My Daughter would love it. Thank you for a fab stay.
Our second stay in this lovely cottage and just as fantastic the second time around. We have enjoyed lots of lovely walks right from the doorstep, good food from nearby pubs and the cottage is so beautiful, it feels like a real home from home. Thank you!
We had a lovely time here in Rosebank Cottage. It is a beautiful cottage with a lovely scenery, including the sheep! We had a wonderful week with good weather as well! We would love to come back again.
We have had a lovely long weekend here. We were very lucky with the weather and had sunshine each day. The cottage is perfect, it is so well equipped with everything you could possibly want and lovely and clean. Thank you for so much for the welcome gifts Jane and the flowers. Thoughtful touches which are much appreciated. We are looking forward to returning in October.
We’ve had a fantastic week in the Forest of Dean, made even better by the fabulous location of Rosebank Cottage! We have enjoyed the cosy evenings and appreciated the quality and luxury the cottage has to offer – not forgetting the sheep! We will be recommending Rosebank Cottage to family and friends! Thank you!
The best cottage we’ve ever stayed in! Amazing garden and place to stay whilst we explore the Forest of Dean. Very comfortable. Seeing the wild boar, foxes, deer and hearing a little owl just outside the cottage was an experience we’ll never forget. Cannot wait to return soon as we’ve had such a fantastic time here.
A lovely, friendly welcome from Jane and a cottage to match! We really enjoyed staying in this cosy cottage and had great fun exploring the surrounding area finding some lovely gardens and stunning walks.

Thank you for a wonderful stay in your cottage. Everything about it, the cottage is perfect and to find anywhere nicer would be almost impossible. Once again, thank you for everything.
What a lovely cottage! Feels like home as soon as you step through the front door, and set in idyllic surroundings, what more could you want. The owners have done a great job refurbishing the house and have thought of practically everything you could need or want in a holiday cottage. We loved it so much we have already booked our next stay before we left! See you soon.
We have had a brilliant week in this fabulous little cottage. Thank you so much. So pretty and inviting, cozy and homely. The boys have enjoyed the forest on the doorstep!
Back again and loved every single moment. I have travelled the world but have never felt the welcome that has been showed to us here. Beautiful cottage and surrounding countryside. Sad to go back. Thank you so much
Beautiful cottage and garden - very well equipped and thank you for the honesty cupboard - tomato soup very appreciated. Thank you
3rd trip, so we clearly love it. As before, the old house has everything we could need to help make the stay perfect. The weather has behaved very well with a massive dose of sunshine. Lovely to catch up with friends locally. See you again soon!
A lovely few days with our friends - and such a comfortable and exceedingly well equipped cottage! a real pleasure to be here. Thank you!
We had a lovely weekend away in spite of the wet weather. Helen did the triathlon at Mallards Pike on the Saturday - recommended and we had a walk around the lake in the afternoon. The Rising Sun (within walking distance) was a dog friendly pub and we had some very nice local burgers. The cottage is lovely, clean and comfy with everything we needed (plus the beautifully kept garden). The garage was a plus for keeping my bike safe. We hope to be back.
Lovely cottage, well equipped, clean, fresh, and very comfortable. Stunning colourful garden with several areas to sit and enjoy listening to the birds and sheep. Weather could have been kinder but we still enjoyed some cycle rides and walks. On our last night we had a great curry at River Spice with the Forge Hammer pub in Lower Lydbrook. We hope to visit again and would happily recommend to all.
We had a fantastic week at Rosebank Cottage. The cottage felt very homely and had some lovely touches. Perfect layout for the four of us. The views from the lounge were super. Harry loved playing in the garden and for going on walks with us through the forest. He enjoyed the visits from the flock of sheep! We had great weather and visited Mallards Pike, Beechenhurst Lodge, Symonds Yat, Goodrich Castle, Puzzlewood and Cannop cycle trail. Thank you Jane for being an excellent hostess. We hope to visit again.
What a joy to come back to a house that we have been coming to for over 35 years and find it so beautifully redesigned and cared for. Well done, and we will certainly be back. I do believe that Mum and Dad would have loved it.
An idyllic jewel in the crown! What a wonderful cottage, which the hosts Jane and Paul have provided for everything and much more. From the walk to Mallards Pike to sitting in the garden for drinks the setting and scenery are only enhanced by the high quality and excellent taste within the cottage.
How many superlatives can one put in one sentence! We can't believe our luck at finding the perfect cottage/home for our five nights in the beautiful Forest of Dean. Jane, Paul, Trevor and Sandra have provided every comfort and the interior is stunning. We will be recommending Rosebank to all friends and family and look forward to another visit.
The cottage completely exceeded our expectations! We are thrilled that we found it - it is beautiful inside and outside and the location was perfect for us. Thank you!
Great cottage, idyllic location, everything catered for. Will certainly recommend.
We would sincerely like to thank our hosts Jane, Paul, Trevor and Sandra for a wonderful weekend in your beautiful cottage, set to a very high standard with such high quality workmanship. We've really enjoyed our stay despite the wet weather. The sheep grazing outside was a treat and lovely views it was a pleasure to see. Will look forward to returning in the near future.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful cottage. The location is perfect, quietly tucked away with the forest on the doorstep. The cottage is so lovely, cozy and homely and has everything you could possibly need for an amazing stay which is what we had. Your hard work shows. Great walks right outside the door or within a few minutes drive, with some beautiful scenery. A visit to Reckless Designs (pottery) is well worth it for some individual pieces. Great pubs close by, would recommend The Lamb (Clearwell) and The Woodman (Parkend) for food. Thank you to Jane and Paul for making us so welcome and for sharing your knowledge for some of the places to visit. The only negative is we have to go home! Will definitely be back and recommend you to friends and family.
We had a fantastic stay in your beautiful cottage. Jane gave us such a lovely warm welcome. The cottage is set in a great location with walks on the doorstep and the pub! The cottage has been finished to a very high standard making our stay feel like being at home. Looking forward to our next visit already and we will definitely be recommending the cottage to family and friends.
What a fabulous find. The cottage is set in a perfect location in the heart of the Forest of Dean. Renovated to a high standard, lots of lovely touches, a lovely warm welcome from Jane and the cottage was immaculately clean and fully equipped. We will definitely be back and already recommended to friends. Thank you for everything.
